Job Overview
The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA), under the supervision the Director of Nursing, performs patient care as directed by way of written plan of care and in accordance with state practice guidelines.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Patient Care and Treatment: Administering therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and gait/transfer training.

  • Implementation of Care Plan: Executing treatment plans designed by the Supervising Physical Therapist (PT).

  • Documentation: Updating progress notes and reporting changes in the patient’s condition to the PT.

  • Education: Teaching patients, family members, or caregivers techniques to support recovery and safety.

  • Collaboration: Coordinating with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians and nurses, to ensure cohesive care.

 

 

Requirements:

  • Associates Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited college or university

  • Current Physical Therapy Assistant Certification (PTA) in the state of Indiana

  • 2+ years experience working as a Physical Therapy Assistant

  • Ability to drive up to 30 minutes minimum for scheduled client shifts

  • In-person CPR certification via the American Red Cross or Heart Association (*can be provided on-site if needed, at cost)

  • TB test within the past 12 months (*can be provided on-site if needed, at cost)

  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, vehicle insurance, and vehicle registration

  • Perform routine duties independent of supervision but consults with others as required.

  • Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills

 

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Home Health experience

  • Experience using AXXESS EMR

  • Strong technology skills; proficiency with Apple devices and applications

 

Schedule:

  • Monday-Friday (Weekend availability)

  • Part-Time: 16-29 visits per week

  • Full-Time: 30-35 visits per week
