What is the difference between Home Care Assistance and Home Health Care?
Home Care Assistance is non-medical care in your home provided by an aide.
Home Health Care is skilled medical care in your home provided by either a skilled nurse, physical therapist, occupational therapist, or speech therapist.
Do I qualify for home health care?
Here are some of the reasons that you may qualify for home health care.
If you have:
difficulty getting out of your home due to physical constraints.
have a need for a skilled nurse for medication management or wound care.
If you need help:
strengthening or balancing,
dressing and bathing due to physical weakness,
ambulatory safety training, or
upper extremity strengthening,
then you may qualify for Physical and or Occupational Therapies.
If you are experiencing:
cognitive changes,
difficulty swallowing,
difficulty processing,
then you may qualify for Speech Therapy.
